Here in Atlanta at a church called NorthPoint there is a really cool preacher called Andy Stanley. Even if you are not religious or don't believe in the whole Jesus thing I would suggest you watch him sometime, he is pretty amazing.
The current question point of Andy's series is the following:
In light of my past experiences, current circumstances, future hopes and dreams, what is the WISE thing for me to do?
Not the smart thing, not what you want to do, the wise thing.
As entrepreneurs this is a tough one:
-Past experiences tell you that you will never have enough money, your current circumstances are probably forcing you to start the business, you are basing your hope and dreams on the business. Seriously if you had the resources to start a business properly, if your circumstances were perfect you would not risk your future hopes and dreams.
So how can starting a business ever be the wise thing to do? Faith, Drive, Believe that you can succeed, The desire to create something from nothing, You take those ingredients plus your business idea and they become your wise decision.

Congrats to MDLive on receiving 23M in funding
The TeleHealth industry needs good well funded companies in the space to push awareness, legislation and insurance reform. When one of the industries leaders gets a new round of funding we congratulate them as this is good for the entire space. This shows other savvy investors that their is room for other companies to grow and market within the space.
This post is not about the differences between MDLive and HealthByConnect instead it is about the success of MDLive. We hope that with the venture money the awareness of TeleHealth is spread that much further.

A Little Motivation
HealthByConnect is an entrepreneur company and as such we need some inspiration at times. It is tough being an entrepreneur, nothing is handed to you. You must work for everything, there are no overnight successes and every single success must be tenaciously won. But still for those of us who do it, we are driven, we can do nothing else. We have no choice, it is our addiction, we must succeed for we cannot fail, there is no backup plan. To those that do not have the entrepreneur spirit they often look at us with a wide range of emotions from disdain to envy, according to our success at the time. It is easy to support an entrepreneur when everything is going great however it is just as easy to throw the support overboard when the going gets tough. Luckfully most entrepreneurs have short memories.
The following video is a one I found that is a great motivational speech. Enjoy

Are we really setting up customized TeleHealth programs for free?
This week we started sending out to employers customized TeleHealth programs with substantial discounts on seeing one of our providers for common illnesses such as colds, headache, flu, sinus infections, UTI, etc. This was immediately met with disbelief and amazement. How could we do this? Why did we not want thousands of dollars from them for setup and qualifying?
The answer is really quite simple. Hope and change, no seriously, we hope to change the way employers look at the TeleHealth industry and we need to do that by offering a simple solution that is cost effective and employee driven.
The insurance landscape is a disaster and there are no kind ways to put it. Employers are faced with some hard decisions over the next few years. HealthByConnect will help these employers by offering a cost effective solution that insurance cannot, simple health care quickly at a reasonable cost.
HealthByConnect does not want employers to have any administration because that means we would have to have administration cost. This would drive the price up defeating the meaning of cost effective. In fact the cost of administration is so high it is regulated, of course everything in medicine is regulated. Administration should not be a profit center.
Employers can now simply provide their employees and families with a URL with to access excellent coverage from a licensed health provider in their state. Signup takes minutes, no approval, no administration it is almost unbelievable in this healthcare landscape.
If you want a customized TeleHealth program contact us today.

A layman's guide to the Flu Shot
Nobody likes to get a shot and most people will think of any reason not to. When I was in the military we got a lot of shots, and I hated them all. One of the greatest lies told when I was kid was that my vaccinations were for life. I as a 5 year old thought that the pain I was suffering was the last of the awful booster shot pain I would ever have. However every time I go in for a physical they have a new vaccination for me to receive.
Every year medical professionals swear you cannot get the flu from the flu shot and I believe them. I have never gotten the flu from the shot so in my small world I know this to be true. However many people every year swear they do, so I asked our medical director why this was and he had a surprisingly simple answer.
The flu vaccine takes three weeks to take effect but you can catch the flu from someone you meet in the doctors office while waiting for the flu shot in much shorter time frame. So the answer is yes you can catch the flu from getting the flu shot...if you come in contact with someone who has the flu.
Dr. Wyatt's suggestion, get the flu shot as early as possible before the flu season starts affecting a lot of people.
